How Does WSOT Work?
The World Series of Trading (WSOT) is Bybit’s biggest annual trading competition, with a massive prize pool worth millions of dollars.
Every trader joining the tournament can either participate as an individual, or join forces in order to participate as part of a squad. Squads are ranked according to a profit-loss formula. In 2024, the leading troop received 144,000 USDT. Meanwhile, individual players are ranked according to either their PnL or trading volume. The leading player for PnL in 2024 reaped $120,251.10 in PnL and earned 19,200 USDT, while the top player for trading volume achieved 1,706,968,467 USDT and earned 200,000 USDT.
The competition typically involves derivatives trading for squads and solo players, with side campaigns involving lucky draws and lotteries. WSOT 2023 included a new category, Copy Trading, through which Master Traders and followers can reap the rewards. WSOT 2024 added a web3 voting competition in addition to the Copy Trading side competition. This year’s WSOT features a Preheat event and a decentralized exchange (DEX) competition on top of the Main Competition.

In 2022, $400,000 worth of BTC was donated to UNICEF to provide science and technology to marginalized communities in East Asia and Pacific. For WSOT 2023, 5% of the eventual prize pool plus contributions from Bybit, totaling up to 400,000 USDT worth of United Arab Emirates dirham (AED), was contributed to the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre and other blockchain organizations to support the growth of the crypto industry.

Who Can Participate in WSOT?
Anyone can participate in the tournament as long as they’re not part of service-restricted locations. That said, Market Makers, Pro users and Institutional users aren’t eligible, as these are usually institutional traders who would make the competition unfair due to their high trading volumes.
You must open a Unified Trading Account to participate in WSOT 2025. Just as with WSOT 2024, this year’s WSOT allows you to use Subaccounts to participate in multiple competitions simultaneously. You can open up to five accounts (one UTA Main Account and four Subaccounts). You’ll need to maintain at least 100 USDT in balance for each participating account to be eligible to participate in WSOT leaderboards of all kinds during the preheat event and the WSOT main competition (for PnL% and PnL leaderboards).
WSOT Competition 2025
Main Competition
The WSOT 2025 main tournament has a total prize pool of up to 8,000,000 USDT, split into four reward categories for its main spot, derivatives and options competition. The tournament takes place from Aug 27, 10AM UTC to Sep 15, 10AM UTC.
Rewards breakdowns for each category are as follows:
Global Squad PnL%: 3.6 million USDT (leaders of the top 40 squads with the highest rankings can claim 20% of the prize pool)
Global individual profit: 1.2 million USDT, with leaderboard ranked according to weights determined by asset tiers (discussed further below) — Beginner Weight: 5%, Light Weight: 15%, Middle Weight: 30%, Heavy Weight: 50% (up to 50 winners in each tier)
Regional trading volume: 2.44 million USDT — a total of nine regions are set for WSOT 2025, ranked by the sum of trading volume of participants under each region, with up to 30 top traders by trading volume in each region sharing in the prize pool
Individual daily PnL%: Daily fixed prize pool of 40,000 USDT for 19 days (for the top 100 winners)
Apart from the main rewards, the WSOT 2025 Main Competition includes several extra rewards. WSOT Preheat (WSOT Trader’s Camp)
New users who join and deposit at least 100 USDT will earn USDT airdrops. You also get to earn rewards through referrals and achieving daily trading milestones. To join the DEX competition, simply own a web3 wallet and trade any asset on the Byreal DEX to accumulate trading volume and quality for the Weekly/Final Leaderboard to earn a share of the rewards.
The prize pool is split 30/70, with 30% allocated to the Weekly Leaderboard and 70% set aside for the Final Leaderboard to help you claim a spot in the Trader Hall of Fame. Rewards are stackable, so you can earn from both the Weekly and Final Leaderboards.
The Weekly Leaderboard tracks your weekly cumulative trading volume in real time. During the four-week competition period, the top 500 traders each week will share in the reward, with higher-ranked participants earning a bigger portion of the reward.
For the Final Leaderboard, rankings are determined according to the monthly trading volume throughout the campaign. The top 1,000 traders will share the reward according to their rankings.

Ranking Mechanism
With its tiered system, WSOT 2025 presents a fairer environment for traders to compete in the Main Competition within the Individual Profit leaderboard, ensuring fair competition within the same weightage tiers. The tiers allow users to choose from four different levels of wallet amounts, which are then categorized into four different weight classes based on each trader’s selected asset tier: Beginner Weight (100 USDT), Light Weight (500 USDT), Middle Weight (2,000 USDT) and Heavyweight (10,000 USDT). Each weight class has its own prize pool, ensuring that both retail traders and larger players can compete fairly within their own divisions.
